Welcome to the Morris County hunt property! There are two separate hunting properties we have in Morris County.

This is Morris-W. It has #1 and #2 hunting sites.

This opportunity is available year round. This is a little over a 2 hour drive from Dallas. The property is located just south of Daingerfield, TX. This is straight out I-30 in the direction of Texarkana. You can turn off at Mt. Pleasant or further at 259. In Daingerfield there are groceries, gas, restaurants, and a small motel (Relax Inn 903-645-2275, $50-$60/night. You are maybe 3 miles from our hunting property). You may try to camp on the property, it does risk animal awareness, but there is a small camp area including a small locked camper trailer.

From Daingerfield, go south on 259 past the Ace Hardware and turn right at the Blackwell Truck & Trailer company on road 2202, which is Ore Road, and go straight a half mile or so. You will run into our gate with combo lock.

Immediately inside there are signs for where to park, campsite, and directions to the stand. A very short distance to all. You will see another huge pipe gate across the road (north boundary), DO NOT CROSS IT, not for our use. This glade, when wet, is just north on it and pushes the game to our pinch point.

Our property is around 30 acres but has hundreds of acres surrounding it that our two feeders pull game from. It is a pinch area in game movement from these outside properties. Both hunting blinds have a laminated price list for the local game processor.

Area 1

On the right side of the road, there is an elevated Dillon box blind set up for bowhunting with enough room to stay all night in. This hunting stand hugs the north fence. The feeder is 20 yards in a defined shooting lane intersecting a well used game trail. There is a hog light above the feeder.

This hunting area has wire fencing boundaries north and south, east is a dropoff ridge line. The camper trailer is another 60 yards south of the feeder – hugs the south boundary fence. Beyond the south wire fence is an immediate bluff drop down, the southern property owner has a feeder as well which draws game.  You will see the game tracks go from our area to his fence, go under it to the feeder below. So we get them coming and going!

Area 2

The second hunting position is on the west side (left) of the road, down hill about 150 yards. It has a hang-on stand on a tree looking down on a feeder within 20 yards.

Also, there is a new “turtle” ground blind positioned to hunt the feeder (about 30 yards) and a heavy game trail just 15 yards to the north. There are hog lights on the feeder. This pulls game up from some pastures located down the hill and coming around the glade area. This hunt area has a line of purple t-post marking the property boundary.

Both hunting positions have hog lights for 24hr hunting and storage barrels for extra bag corn. This property is not a spot and stalk area, it is tight and has elevation drops. Animal traffic is all day, traditional morning and dusk hunts for deer. Recommend you put a bait pile of corn exactly where you want to shoot them. There is a game cart on the path to Area 2 next to the corn barrel to assist you with transport needs.

The ranch manager to the north is Barry Warren (903) 249-7042. Text him if you have an emergency or need to cross a fence line, he knows all the neighbors. Barry is also in the Hunt Club and one of the Directors of Texans Archery Club.

There is a local game processor within about 5 miles:

Johnson Wild Game Processing (903) 767-3821

4942 FM 2348 Mt. Pleasant, TX 75455

When you want to reserve a hunt, there is option for two hunters to hunt at the same time, please email me so I can reserve it on the calendar. For safety reasons, please text me at start and finish of hunt, I would love to get any kill pictures too!
Special Note: The White Oak Creek WMA type 2 property is located just south of I-30 along 259. This is 25,000 acres of public hunting land that might offer you additional hunting opportunity. Here is the map link: https://tpwd.texas.gov/huntwild/hunt/public/annual_public_hunting/resources/727.pdf
