The “Hunt Club” offering is an additional value for Texans Archery Club members. This is outside of our 501c3 organization.
A few spots have opened up for the 2023-4 Hunting Season –
apply before 9/1/23
Consists of a network of bowhunting only properties accessible all year, by advance calendar reservation, that are within two hours of Dallas. This is a longterm strategy for inexpensive private access without ownership responsibilities. If you have ever lost your hunting lease, this is for you!
The current “Hunt Club” enrollment cost is a one time non-refundable fee of $500 for a single adult to join – this goes towards property and equipment acquisitions. The annual dues are $250 for maintenance of properties (due August of each year), NONPAYMENT FORFEITS MEMBERSHIP. You will also be asked to bring a bag of corn each hunt to help maintain feeders or for your targeted baiting needs.
Before applying, can you shoot a minimum score of 210 points, out of 300, at 20 yards (NFAA/USAA target)?
The membership is not transferable or refundable. No guests allowed. It is less expensive than one hunt with an outfitter. The goal is to acquire more properties to give even more access and opportunity (value) to a member. There probably will be a limit to membership in the future. The enrollment fee would probably be increased as a result.
The network consists of mostly small properties which are surrounded by hundreds of free range acres. We pull wildlife to our year-round active feeders. There are existing blinds or stands, and you may set up your own during your hunt, or donate equipment to improve a property. This is Bowhunting ONLY, no hunting firearms. Crossbow is approved. Members have access all year and may hunt any property in the network, but should not reserve the same property more than twice per month. Hunts are one to three day reservations.
Active TAC membership is required to participate.
Before booking your first hunt, you will need to have a valid TX hunting license, complete a liability waiver, and meet the Hagerman qualifications before your first hunt – that is to complete a proficiency shoot and attain the IBEP certification (we will host this one day seminar for those that don’t have it, $25 cost). The proficiency shoot is done by achieving a minimum score at 20 yards. This is to assure the best level of bowhunter ethics and safety.
IBEP Class can be scheduled register with rgbarnette@yahoo.com
Beyond the permanent hunting property network, additional opportunities in the future may also include outfitter specials, leased properties, and urban hunts within the Metroplex.
During deer season, those properties that qualify may have a lottery draw reservation system for members only.
You can review the reservations on the calendars below. To make a reservation request, please email Clint@TexasArchery.info
